Based on Klinger, a real horse that serves in the Caisson Platoon in Arlington National Cemetery, this work of fiction was written for Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors in honor of all of America's beloved fallen heroes. Klinger is visited often by TAPS kids during Good Grief Camp in Arlington and the love appears to be mutual. Written by Betsy Beard, former TAPS magazine editor and surviving mom of SPC Bradley Beard. Illustrated by Shelley Johannes.
