Based on Klinger, a real horse that served in the Caisson Platoon in Arlington National Cemetery, this work of fiction was written for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors in honor of all of America's beloved fallen heroes. Klinger was visited often by TAPS kids during Good Grief Camp in Arlington and the love appeared to be mutual. Written by Betsy Beard, former TAPS magazine editor and surviving mom of SPC Bradley Beard. Illustrated by Shelley Johannes.
